In 2009, Downstream launched one of Australia's most progressive Performance Display advertising solutions for performance based marketers. Via our exclusive Efficient Frontier license in Australia and New Zealand, Downstream can access the burgeoning Digital Ad Exchange markets by having a direct seat on Google's Double Click ad exchange and Yahoo!'s Right Media Exchange, RMX. Downstream are the only Australian digital agency to have direct access to these USA based exchanges. In January 2011, Facebook will be integrated into the networks Downstream can access via Efficient Frontier.
Our new capability means Australian advertisers can now access the immense display inventory that reaches in excess of 92% of the Australian internet population and buy advertising via a live auction mechanic with transparent pricing. This means no mark-up or commissions on digital ad spends and being able to finally optimise performance display in a transparent way by uniquely identifying which parts of what networks create the most value for an advertiser.
The key difference is advertiser optimised advertising investment, not publisher optimised pricing and revenue. Our model represents a fundamental shift in how advertisers can now plan, buy and execute digital display campaigns.
