PURPOSE OF ROLE
Downstream, Australia’s leading independent Search Engine Marketing Agency is expanding operations and launching a new performance display division leveraging world class bid management technology.
As a result, we are looking for a Performance Display Executive. This role entails understanding of client’s marketing objectives and working closely with the Head of Display to execute campaigns effectively, as well as managing campaigns day to day to ensure client objectives are met.
Working as the performance team and part of Downstream Marketing as a whole, the role will require important liaison with the technical environment Efficient Frontier, as well as internally with the wider search team.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge Gathering
- Understanding the client brief and performance plan. Working closely with key contacts internally and externally to maximise the ROI for client and DSM.
- Taking time to understand EF’s capabilities in order to maximise the potential of the client.
- Building strong relationships with Google, Yahoo etc. Understanding the nuances of each network and matching that with the needs of the client.
Execution of Performance Plan
- Implement campaign in a hand on manner once a campaign is approved by the client.
- Media buying and liaising with Efficient Frontier and key performance publishers.
- Developing and maintaining up to date creative specifications.
- Manage campaign set up in ad server and liaise with Efficient Frontier.
- Manage trafficking process with Efficient Frontier.
- Ultimately, ensure campaigns go to market on time with tracking successfully in place so we can deliver optimal results for our clients.
Reporting and Optimization
- Understanding the client brief to ensure we are reporting to specific KPI’s.
- Audit campaign once it is live and troubleshoot accordingly if necessary.
- Producing weekly performance display reports and work with the Search team to provide clients with integrated results.
- Work closely with the Head of Display to develop insights from results analysis.
- Optimize campaign with EF technology or in conjunction with publishers to maximise the ROI for client and Downstream.
- Produce post campaign reports and other quarterly reports when required.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
The successful candidate should be a focused, process and numbers driven individual, able to grasp new systems easily and communicate key findings clearly through analysis. This person must also demonstrate a keen interest in the internet and the technology that evolves it; have a good understanding of the digital media landscape.
Additionally candidates must also have the mathematical ability to understand optimisation principals, modern portfolio theory etc.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
Degree in a business related discipline – Marketing, Economics, Business, Computer Science, etc. Business and commercial awareness. Strong analytical and technical ability.
Desirable
IDM Diploma or other commercial focused qualification
SPECIALIST/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, APTITUDE
Essential
- Ability to derive insight from data.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills including usage of Pivot Tables, formulas etc
- Previous experience with management and analysis of large volumes of data
- Ability to learn to navigate web-based interfaces quickly and accurately.
Desirable
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Power Point and Word
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Digital media exposure (preferably agency experience)
- Online campaign management experience with a strong ROI focus (ideally 2 years)
- Experience in managing data and campaign analysis
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Desirable
- Some experience in trafficking creative with third party ad servers such as Eyeblaster etc will be a bonus
